Wine Wednesday Celebration!

Happy Wine Wednesday!!

We celebrated the end of Mike’s internship with burgers, veggies, and mashed potatoes!

And of course it is Wine Wednesday so we guzzled it all down with a phenomenal bottle of Blenheim Wines 2010 Syrah. Just magnificent. Blenheim is a delicious winery in Charlottesville, VA and we typically break out their wine for special occasions!

It has been a long year of Mike working many many long hours and so we celebrated the night with good food, good wine, and movie night with the pups! (They were enthralled with the lion in Life of Pi)

Hopefully you got to enjoy a little vino tonight and spent time with the ones you love! (And yes, Pat Zajak, Alex Trebeck, Usher, and Sam Waterson all can count as loves) 😉

We gotta do much more than believe if we wanna see the world change…

This morning my ears are filled with the new Dave Matthews Band Album, a sound that is so sweet and so familiar.  I have been listening to DMB since 1998/1999 when my brothers started listening to them (what didn’t I do that my brothers started first??) My casual listening turned into my first concert in 2001 and soon I will be heading to my 21st.  In my opinion, their music can help me escape, draw out emotion, cry and reflect, laugh and smile…. Their music has brought together Mike and I and remains an important part in our relationship (sounds weird, I know!)

I think it’s funny sometimes to tell people that I love Dave Matthews Band and have been to 19 shows (2 more soon!)… the responses I get is SHOCK.  People just don’t understand. If that makes me a groupie, I’m pretty sure I’m okay with it. Mike and I have traveled to some cool places to see some great shows and share unforgettable times with great friends – what a great way to bring people together.

We met Dave at Blenheim Vineyards in 2010!!

I know it seems like a crazy thing to have a post dedicated simply to this band, but I wish I could express the gratitude I have for all of them. They have put so much time, energy, and love into their music.  Their following is incredible.  They live simply, they appreciate our planet, they make a difference.  I only hope that each of you can find a passion for something/someone that represents the idea that Life is Good – and we should appreciate what we have.

Celebrate we will. Life is SHORT but SWEET for certain. – DMB, Two Step

May we celebrate what we have because all too quickly our sweet lives can be changed.

Wine Wednesday!!

Okay, I have to admit it.  I don’t want to consistently boast about my cheap wine indulgence. So, this Wine Wednesday has been enjoyed with cheap wine, but I want to show that I actually LOVE good wine.

And of course I had wine over the weekend that fits PERFECTLY. 🙂

Saturday night, we cooked up a delicious dinner of filet mignon (with mushrooms and onions cooked in white wine!), baked potato, broccoli, and rolls. PHENOMENAL.

We paired this scrumptious meal with Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvingnon.

If I haven’t relayed this enough, I am a big follower of the Dave Matthews Band, and the lead singer, Dave Matthews, is an avid wine lover.  He owns Blenheim Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA and became a part owner for this wine (with Steve Reeder) – which was released last year. Dreaming Tree wine is sold in the “classics” – Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Crush (a red blend).

I’d like to think that I am being as impartial as possible (I love Blenheim wines too and just about any other wine) – but these wines have so much flavor, it’s amazing and makes for a delicious and affordable treat.

So let yourself indulge and seek out a bottle of Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvingnon (or Chardonnay, or Crush)… You won’t be let down.

Additionally – if you’d like to spice things up a bit, select one of the following to listen to the Dave Matthews Band sing “The Dreaming Tree” and “Crush“. Two of my favorite songs with such deep meaning.
